In fact, I think I'll print it out and turn it into a poster for my wall. How encouraging are those wonderful words! I often wonder how people without faith cope with grief and trauma...how do they find comfort without feeling God close within them? No wonder so many despair. As always, I'm inspired by your writing, too. You have such a beautiful turn of phrase.Miss Minhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03908243287393389500noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2208627029605402728.post-27213832443093874662020-07-23T10:27:43.437+10:002020-07-23T10:27:43.437+10:00Very blessed to read this today, Melinda. I can readily identify with your experience and responses (both negative and positive) in dealing with grief and injustice, and also with 'I simply missed God so very much.' I had an itch that nothing and no-one else could scratch and a longing that nothing and no-one else other than God could satisfy. I'm so thankful for the truth of 2 Timothy 2:13 "If we are faithless, He remains faithful, for He cannot deny Himself." From my experience (and yours, it seems) I would go beyond that to marvel at a mystery: that, somehow, God actually sustains and nurtures the deepest essence of our first love and simplest faith in Him while we're being tossed about by the darkest storms and drenched with grief; He still throws out the life-jacket of His faithfulness and waits for us to grab hold of it.
Mazzy Adamshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03945841786696357456noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2208627029605402728.post-48543663133894526112020-07-23T10:12:06.727+10:002020-07-23T10:12:06.727+10:00Thank you for sharing this testimony to God’s lovi...Thank you for sharing this testimony to God’s loving care. Incidentally we have a son who is now a lawyer - he has a wonderful command of words. In his second year at school when children had to write sentences with their spelling words, one of the word was “warm”. He wrote: “Donuts are warm and so are teddies.” The teacher’s comment was: “Interesting sentence.” I still have the exercise book in which he wrote that sentence. I have just come back from speaking to a group of pastoral care workers where I mentioned how we are all created in the image of God so there must be something of God's creativity in each of us. Then I read your post above and found it really affirming. Keep going with both your artwork and your writing!Jo-Anne Berthelsenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09775045057529728396noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2208627029605402728.post-78745801193146925322016-07-18T11:02:00.588+10:002016-07-18T11:02:00.588+10:00Hi Melinda,

We don't always understand God's plans or how He is working in the world or in this or that particular tragic circumstance, but without Him none of it makes sense. And He is accomplished at bringing good out of evil. And His presence is more than enough. And yes, thrilled that He has imbued us with His own creativity. I've enjoyed your recent art works - and look forward to seeing more.Jeanette O'Haganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11057798704247611224noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2208627029605402728.post-48654674117069585242016-07-18T09:15:57.475+10:002016-07-18T09:15:57.475+10:00Loved your post Melinda. I am so sorry for your painful season, whatever it was - but thank God that we can be honest before Him and share what we feel. David's songs of lament filled me with relief and hope that I could be honest and authentic before Him.

I've often been made painfully aware that I need Him for my writing. There are times I've felt it a miracle when I've written something - and knew how much I needed to lean on Him to do it. May we all develop our relationship with Him more and more so that all that we do be it writing or otherwise flow out of our one-ness with Him, the Lord and Creator of the Universe. Praise Him too that He calls us to be His image bearers (in creating too) to a lost and hurting world.Anusha Atukoralahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00859837228901127984noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2208627029605402728.post-83372069501962434392016-07-18T09:13:16.362+10:002016-07-18T09:13:16.362+10:00Great blog, thanks Melinda.Great blog, thanks Melinda.Jeanette Grant-Thomsonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07691677119939194892noreply@blogger.com
