What ...Thanks so much for your encouragement Mazzy! What is it about sisters and Georgette Heyer? I was fortunate enough to have ‘minding duty’ for my sister’s collection while she’s overseas. (Don’t mind that duty at all!) I’m curious about the Christian version of P&P your daughter enjoyed (how awesome is that testimony?). I’m familiar with SO many iterations of P&P - we even own a Mormon version! Now you have so many fantastic books :). I don’t read a lot of CF but I love your books. They are great for those times when life is tough and you need to read something where you know good will triumph and love will win. The kind of book that you curl up with on the sofa on a Sunday afternoon. I hope you will write many, many more :). Wow--you have such a diverse lot of projects on the go at the moment, so well done!

One sentence that particularly resonated with me though was: 'I may not be pastoring anymore, but I see my writing as my ministry.' My husband has been a pastor for over fifty years and I too am a trained pastor, and both of us have been involved in all sorts of ministries. But that is exactly how I approach my writing too, Carolyn--I see it as a kind of extension of my pastoral ministry and one that fits who I am exactly and enables me to reach out and touch others' hearts in a different and unexpected way. It's wonderful, isn't it, how God brings all the strands of our life experiences together and weaves them all in with our gifts and abilities, thus giving us such a wonderful and fulfilling ministry!Jo-Anne Berthelsenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09775045057529728396noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2208627029605402728.post-77357756567330124532019-11-21T07:42:00.423+10:002019-11-21T07:42:00.423+10:00What a prolific writer you've become, Carolyn....What a prolific writer you've become, Carolyn. I take my hat off to you. My older sister was a great fan of Georgette Heyer books. When she married and left home her collection went with her - sadly, before I was old enough to catch the Regency Romance bug. So you can imagine my surprise when a Christian version of Pride and Prejudice turned out to be THE book that turned my then teenaged daughter from a 'Books? Meh.' type of reader to an avid devourer of them. Borrow fifteen books from the library for a month? Sure. Two weeks later ... (I may have found myself raiding her stash when I'd finished my collection of spy thrillers and mystery books ;) ) At that time, our local library had several revolving stands devoted to Christian fiction in various genres. It was wonderful, as a parent, to rest assured that my daughter could happily raid those stands without fear of encountering inappropriate material. So thanks for contributing to the ongoing delight of readers of all ages, and to their peace of mind when it comes to selecting books that are not only good reads, but release hope-filled messages through their themes.
